I've been with the Learning and Teaching Portfolio since November 2008.
My role as Architect within the team involves establishing and evolving the IT solution architecture for the L&T technologies identified in the TELT platform.

My background is in education and program management. I have a Masters Degree in Education and since 1982 have worked across all age groups from Early Childhood (Indigenous communities and regional community-driven preschools) to Higher Education. But my interest for many years has been in how technology can enrich learning and teaching; particularly for learners who battle with traditional teaching and learning approaches, modes, styles and the traditionally heavy emphasis placed on written text.

In Higher Education I worked in sessional and part-time roles, in Education and Social Science, at Southern Cross University.
In vocational education and training (VET) I worked in all sectors, Adult and Community Education (ACE), TAFE, Private RTOs and was also involved in enterprise-based workforce development projects.
From 2005 until I joined UNSW I worked in a number of national and NSW management roles for the Australian Flexible Learning Framework.

Over the last 5 years I've been an active user and advocate of social software and the switch to a Web 2.0 mindset that has enabled networked learning, global connections, self-publishing, and collaboration.
I enjoy art and photography and am an active FlickR user (with Share-alike CC licencing of course). I'll be uploading UNSW images here for use on our sites; feel free to use them if you wish.
