Peer Review application/s

Peer review applications enable student work to be self-evaluated, and also examined one or more course peers in order to evaluate and provide feedback on content and quality. They have typically have been developed by individual educational institutions and as a result present varying levels of robustness, support, functionality and quality.

Across the UNSW community a number of Peer review options have been used and developed including WebPA, iPeer and Calibrated Peer Review (CPR). These, in addition to a range of other solutions not yet investigated by UNSW, require evaluation before selection can be made for the TELT Platform. More than one application may be required to meet the broad spectrum of UNSW L&T needs.

In addition to independent applications, Blackboard Learn also has an embedded system which allows students to review each other’s assignments.

A review of peer review systems will include current uses and development of these systems, and the kind of functionality academics need.
